Maybe because its a money order so no way to trace the money from a money order. If you were writing a personal check you would be able to show documentation of you depositing the money in your account and writing a check for earnest money. Otherwise even though you have bill of sale and title that still doesn't show how you paid for the money order. You could have paid for the money order with different funds.
