Will a lender notify you before they repossess your vehicle?

I talked to my loan company (H-D Financial) yesterday as my payment was 3 days late. I told him how I was unemployed and looking for work but had 2 opportunities this week. He told me there was nothing he could do to help me since I am a new customer but that he will make a note of it and to call him as soon as I hear something about the job. I really hope it does not happen but if they decide to repo my motorcycle, will they call and notify me in advance so that it doesn't just appear some guys are stealing it from me?
