Army Careers Officer?

Will an army careers officer be able to tell me if i am aloud in the army or will the doctor have to send the army doctor some notes or can i do it ? Basically had rolandic epilepsy when i was young and they say aslong as you are fit free and off medication for 5 years then you can join
