Looking for a motorcycle for my husband?

I am looking to buy a motorcycle for my husband for his birthday dilemma is I don't know what I am looking at! He likes something real fast but I find the kawasaki he used to have was uncomfortable to ride on. I would like something he would like to ride on that is not too loud or uncomfortable but fast for him any one have any suggestions
