If I go Army Reserve, can I go Active?

I was active Army for four years and got out in 2009. My family and I have decided that going back in the military would be a good idea because since I've been out I've gone from job to job and just aren't having any luck. We are sick of being broke and living like ****. I've talked to recruiters and they say that the Army is not taking any prior service right now. The only way I could get in is to go in with the same MOS however, that MOS is not available.I got out as an E-5. Anyone have any suggestions?
